Have you read Ghost Story yet? If not, what’s wrong with you?
Went to Unity on the Plaza with Pam on Tuesday for a Q&A with Jim Butcher and to have him sign our books.
His short hair was unexpected, because I’m used to the crazy ass long hair he’s had on his previous book covers.
He was very funny, very geeky and says um a lot. He was nice enough to pose with us while signing our books.
Aaron calls my evening a nerd’s Sophie’s choice and he’s not far off.
I’m going to a book signing by Jim Butcher tonight with my friend Pam. He is the writer of the Dresden Files books, which are insanely addictive.
Yesterday, I got an email saying I’d won tickets to see Cowboys and Aliens, which I have wanted to see ever since I heard it existed.
Cowboys! Aliens! What’s not to love?
And so came the choice…which to do?
Decided on Jim Butcher because he does signings far less often than Cowboys and Aliens will be shown in theaters.
Sent Aaron the email about the show in the hopes that he’ll be able to get in. If so, he’s buying me a ticket to an evening show next week.
This isn’t even the nerdiest decision I’ve had to make this year.
According to wordpress.com, this is my 500th post.
I hope you weren’t hoping for a prize or a picture of ponies or something.
I’ve been trying to find ways to save some money. I’ve turned off cable TV, I try to carpool when possible and I’ve seriously cut back on the morning mocha addiction.
I think I have found two new things to try.
I am not buying bagged potato chips for the rest of the year. I am allowing myself a little wiggle room in case I’m in a restaurant who makes potato chips on site. Who can resist FRESH chips?
I am not going to buy any more alcohol for my apartment. What I have is what I’ve got for the rest of the year. Any booze I buy for the rest of the year is being purchased for consumption outside of the apartment.
I’m telling you this in hopes that it’ll keep me honest.
I can almost guarantee that on New Year’s Day, I’ll be stopping at the store for a bag of chips, dip and a 6-pack.
I’m classy like that.
It’s possible that by now, you may be aware that I’m a fan of Harry Potter. If not, let me tell you now:
I am a fan of Harry Potter.
My ass is currently planted in a seat at Studio 30 and I’m about to start a marathon.
Today I’m watching Sorceror’s Stone and Chamber of Secrets.
Tomorrow is Prisoner of Azkaban and Goblet of Fire.
Wednesday is Order of the Phoenix and Half Blood Prince.
Thursday is parts 1 and 2 of Deathly Hallows.
Friday is for sadness that Harry Potter is over.
